I always wanna try Black Angus and I was pleasantly surprised of the food quality, portion, and ambience. I am surprised there are only a few location left as based on my overall experience - as compared to my satisfaction with the Keg which is also above average (: Service is attentive and efficient. Server came check on us a few times and ensuring needs are met. I ordered the medium rare sirloin steak which came with two sides. I chose the Caesar salad and mashed potato which were done perfectly well! The cup of joe they served was also good; not weak at all. I ended up having to doggie back my steak due to a pretty decent portion they served...a good 8 oz PLUS the 2 big sides! Look for the coupon that came in with the newspaper promotion which could save you a few bucks for an entree...sweet deal! I am one such happy and satisfied customer when I left & I will be back again (:

Received a coupon in the mail for a deal on the Campfire Feast For Two so decided to head to our local Black Angus Steakhouse for dinner. We made reservations for 6:30PM and were seated immediately upon arrival. My girlfriend and I had the Campfire Feast For Two which came with an appetizer to share, two entrées and a dessert to share. We ordered the Wagon Wheel Sampler Platter as our appetizer which was delicious! For our entrée we both ordered a medium-rare New York steak which came out cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful! And then there was dessert. BIG MOUNTAIN CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE! I am a lover of thy chocolate so needless to say I enjoyed dessert. This review would have been 5 stars but after the waiter took our order we never really saw him again until it was time to cash out. Maybe he was busy? I don't know. Nevertheless don't let this deter you from coming in.

Black Angus Coupons Still Don't Make It Worth It I stopped by for their $8.50 lunch coupon, rememberring a year or two ago when their $7.95 coupon prime rib lunch sandwiches [regurly $12.95] were 5 stars for the money....hades, back then they came with a 6-8oz delicious prime rib chunk, bread, salad and generous portion of fries. I ordered the teriaki sirloin lunch entree, it was tough and dinky [2 oz of meat?]. It came with about eight french fries and NO BREAD. The sald was OK and quite large....but I left quite hungry too. Went home and had a cheese sandwich. Oh, ya gotta order an overpriced drink now with the lunch coupon too....their non-happy hour beer can top $7/pounder, so I orderred hot tea [no choices, just black tea] and a HORRIFYING $2.75 added on for ONE bag of tea and hot water... A saving grace for that dinky over-priced lunch [around $14 with tax and tip]; the dinners are FAR worse. Their 3 oz $20 sirloin wouldn't fill up a fly. I had a birthday coupon for a free dinner and by the time I paid for my daughter's meal too....believe me it was a HORRIFYING price for DINKY portions. Even the large appetizer plate with the two dinner coupon special is half what it used to be and add a couple over-priced drinks and tax and tip and that $40 coupon dinner ends up near $70. Way overpriced. I did hear the Federal Way Black Angus has gone through like 3 owners in the last several years and each time it gets bought out the meals get downsized too. I'd recommend the Muckleshoot Casino buffet with "all ya can eat" prime rib and crab for like $20....tipping is optional there too. The food is better quality too.

False advertising! Stood in line for Thanksgiving dinner for over an hour even with a reservation. Was served the regular soup and bread, took 40 minutes for the main meal to arrive. When it was served the waitress said they'd run out of a few things and put the plate down, our jaws dropped with shock when we saw the plate was 2/3 empty with a tablespoon size of mashed potatoes & stuffing with a teaspoon of gravy. When I'd asked why we weren't told in advance that they were basically out of thanksgiving dinner, so we could order something else we were told they'd just found out. I'd asked if they were going to tell the 100 people waiting out in the lobby. I got no answer. I'm sure if they did all those people would leave after all it is thanksgiving.

Our second time and it was just as awesome as the first. Our server, Ashley, was friendly and very quick with whatever we might need. The food was plentiful and delicious. The appetizer of prime rib nachos was plentiful and delicious, as was the steak soup and bacon/chicken/avocado sandwich. We will definitely be back.

wow, i didn't even realize this chain was still around. surprise. it's huge inside, and very old school. definitely a funky layout in the front and there must be a huge room in the back because there was a parade of folks walking into the back. long skinny bar, that isn't very friendly to walk into. the foot traffic pattern causes a great deal of walking back and forth in front or behind you. it's pretty distracting. this is certainly not the met, or daniel's. the grade of meat isn't that great, but for it's price point, it's affordable. some of the specials they run make it a place the average person can go out to on a regular basis.

Went here for a steak and boy did I get one delicious steak. Food from the beginning of my meal to the complimentary chocolate chip cookie at the end was great. The only negative thing I have to say is that the gentleman that was up running the hostess stand didn't seem to be very personable. You should have someone who is genuinely happy to greet your customers.

I went to black angus last week on my birthday and it was the best birthday dinner I've had in a very long time. The steak was delicious, cooked just how i like it and the portions are very generous. Customer service was great. I will definitely be going back soon.

This place has really changed in the last few years. I don't go here often but when we get the coupon we like to take advantage of it. The last 2 times my boyfriend and I went there the food was good but small! We always order the sampler platter and now they are very stingy. Also we were there for almost 2 hrs because our waitress was slow getting to us. She took almost 10 min to get our water, 15 min to come back to get our order, and when she would come out she would say, "sorry we are running behind." However the other tables around us had no problem getting their food. The last thing was she forgot our dessert at the end, and never came back. I had to speak with the manager who was very polite, but kept cutting me off when I would try to explain our situation. He gave us a $15.00 gift card, but honestly I am just going to give it to someone else. I'm over this place.

The last few times we have gone here it has bit really hit or miss. We don't frequent but when we do the food has been rather good. The only issue is the service. It seems like the waitress staff is spread out. In an area of 4 tables there was 4 different waiters. You should probably clear your schedule as the Last few visit took at least an hour and a half beginning to end with lots of free time waiting. Waiting for the waitress to take your order waiting for your food etc. And then last night the tables around is who sat after us with different waiters were getting the food way before us. And then she completely forgotten our desert. Over all they are usually ok. Just sort of slipping the last few times.

I generally like Black Angus but this location absolutely sucks. The manager Jason is an idiot and really doesn't car if the customer is happy and the quality is just bad.

We are new to the area and I understand that in its heyday the Black Angus was THE steak place before it was bumped off by McCormicks, etc. Additionally, I try to shy away from chains. I like to celebrate independent restaurants. I ordered the prime rib and it was like BUTTER! I was very impressed. We may have gotten lucky during our visit. We will go back again perhaps try some different items.

Once again find myself at a chain restaurant. Can't seem to avoid them when dining out with a group. There were enough $8.50 lunch coupons for everyone, so it seemed like a deal. Well, you get what you pay for. Sometimes less. Several of us went for the top sirloin, which came with two sides. I ordered the wedge salad and steak soup as my sides. Both were disappointments. Some places can turn a chunk of iceberg lettuce into something sublime. Not this one. Lotsa lettuce, not much of anything else. As for the soup, it was so salty that I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. A few other folks seemed happier with their choices, mainly on the basis that their side salads were quite large. I ordered my steak medium. It arrived (20 minutes after we finished our side dishes) well done, dry, and essentially inedible. It was a very small piece of meat, sitting all alone on a large plate with no garnish or anything to make it look appealing. F-minus for presentation The only entree that looked worth eating was the prime rib. Would have given this place one star were it not for the stellar service. Cross this place off the list of restaurants that I'll ever return to.

If you like quality food, this is the place. I was pleasantly surprised with this steakhouse chain (particularly this location). It was better than most chains (outback, lonestar, Etc.). Service was outstanding and the meal was what you would expect. This place has great specials around lunch time. You can plan to get out of here all for around $12. *The -1 star is just because it's not my favorite hole in the wall/local with authenticity and character. All in all it's a great chain, particularly this location to grab a quick and quality lunch. I have not eaten here for dinner but I imagine it's just as great.

In the area on other business, We decided to use our lunch coupons for some deliciousness at Black Angus. No disappointments here. The food was delicious as always, and unlike some previous reviewers, we have NEVER left a Black Angus hungry! I had a grilled favorite: Grilled Salmon with parmesan covered broccoli and a garden salad (the bleu cheese dressing here is excellent!) The only thing I found weird (but NOT unwelcome) was the parmesan on my broccoli, which is usually shaved pieces but was a shaved slab covering my broccoli entirely (like I said, not unwelcome, I love cheese!) My fiance had Steakhouse Steak and Cheese burger with fries, which he enjoyed. 2 sodas and a beer later (Goose Island IPA-he really enjoyed it!) cost us a total of $31 before tip. The service was excellent, despite a busy host/hostess situation when we first arrived (the phones were ringing off the hook-probably concerning tomorrow's playoff game.)

To start with I would like to say I've been here before and had a very different experience. Tonight was the worst dining experience I may have ever had in any restaraunt. I've had better food and customer service at McDonalds. We arrived and were seated promptly. Appetizer and drink orders taken as expected. The wagon wheel sampler platter arrives and everything is going well, the buffalo strips are a little bland and lack punch but hey all is ok. Then the silliness starts... Waitress slaps down salads and leaves. I try to catch her attention and she tell's me "Hold on I'll be with you shortly". After another 5 minutes I get the attention of another server to ask for fresh ground pepper on our salads. Our server comes back and asks us if we want refills on the cocktails, we say yes. 15 min later our cocktails arrive with our food. My wife ordered her filet at med rare it arrives at medium. I order a ribeye at med rare it arrives at med well. My son orders a bacon cheeseburger at medium it arrives at well and tasting rancid. I try to flag our server down, she replies "Hold on I'll be with you as soon as I can". I ask for management they send out a new ribeye and cancel my son's burger. The steak returns cooked blue. They graciously comp the burger and offer us a free desert. I don't know if it was a bad night or what but food quality sucked, customer service sucked and I paid full price for an appetizer platter, two steak dinners and drinks. I realize my standards are a lot higher and accept that service and quality at Black Angus is not on par with the higher end steakhouses I typically frequent. However if I could give them 0 stars I would and I will not be back.

We've been eating here off and on for over 30 years. Each time it's been a different experience. Sometimes they hit the mark perfectly and other times they missed wildly. I always get a weird feeling stepping into this place wondering if I'm going to be happy or miserable when leaving. I do like the dinning room's high back booths so you can focus on your friends rather than everybody else in the place. The last time I was here, we had lunch in the bar. Surprise! I'm not a steak person. I only go because my friends are steak people. I'll just have the salad, chicken strips and the mac & cheese skillet off the bar menu. The big complaint about the visit was the mac & cheese skillet. My God, what huge gelatinous mess! Macaroni noodles like you see from a Kraft dinner absolutely DROWNED in a sea of cheese/cream goo with a huge handful of chopped bacon on top. The very definition of the phrase "over the top". I burrowed into the center, scooped out what noodles I could find and then pushed it away. Yuck. Please BA, go back to the drawing board on this heart attack in a skillet and add more noodles and less sauce.

I visited the Federal Way Black Angus last night with 4 other adult family members and we were extremely disappointed with our overall experience. I have been to Black Angus locations including this one more times than I can count. Growing up, my family celebrated all of the adult birthdays by going out to dinner at Crossroads Black Angus, I even had my first legal shot in their bar. Needless to say, it has always held sentimental memories for me. Since we were celebrating the birthday of our mother who had passed we chose Black Angus to dine and figured it would be a great location to reminisce. I am sad to say that was probably the last visit my family will make to Black Angus. Here are the pros and cons of my experience and an explanation as to why they have lost lifelong customers. The positive part of my experience: Our server (a young man with dark hair) was fantastic. He was extremely polite and attentive. Our drinks were constantly refilled and he checked in to ensure we had fresh bread more than once. The negative experience appeared to be beyond his control and I honestly felt bad for him. I could tell he was having a hard night due to the quality of the food that was being sent out by the kitchen. The negatives aspects of my experience: The silverware was dirty and the food was horrible! Like I said, I have eaten at Black Angus countless times and I know what their typical quality is like. I am not expecting steakhouse quality food. However, I am expecting my food to be hot when it arrives at the table and cooked properly. Out of 5 meals only one person left satisfied with the quality, freshness, and temperature of their food. Two people were dissatisfied with their food but were hungry and hesitant to speak up until the end of service and decided to eat their dishes rather than sending them back. One of those individuals had a sandwich that was supposed to be warm and served with a side of French fries. It arrived at room temperature with less than a handful of cold shriveled up fries. The other diner had a ribeye steak (ordered medium rare) served with a baked potato. His food was barely warm when it was arrived. The butter wouldn't even melt in the potato and the steak was medium well. If it was cooked medium rare it had sat for quite some time to cook through and then cool down. My husband and I received cold food that was inedible! We both had steak and lobster with breaded shrimp and baked potatoes. I also ordered a side of broccoli and mushrooms on my steak. When our server set the plates down on the table I could immediately tell that there was something wrong with the butter and the lobsters on both plates. The lobster was like nothing I have ever seen before: shriveled up, with a rubbery, flat looking texture, and a few droplets of water sitting on top. I touched it and it was cold, not even lukewarm. The butter seemed to have separated as if it had sat for quite awhile. I felt my steak and it was the same...barely room temperature. I went on to the shrimp... same thing! The potato was a little warmer but no where near what I would expect to be served at a restaurant. My husband checked his plate and it was the same disappointing situation. We both decided to send our plates back. After quite some time the server returned and offered to bring out our sides so that we had something to eat while we waited. When our baked potatoes and my broccoli arrived it was much better. We quickly ate through our side items and everyone else at the table finished their food and ordered desert while they waited. What seemed like forever passed before our server delivered our newly cooked plates. At this point everyone else was ready to go so we decided to request some to-go boxes and have a few bites before taking most of our food home. The second round of lobsters stilled looked a little funny but I decided to try it out anyways. Yuck!!! It smelled abnormally fishy, had a funny taste to it, and was an extremely rubbery texture with an almost inedible outer layer that was very firm, almost crunchy. Yeah... definitely not a normal lobster! We decided to pass on that one. Moving on to the shrimp; they were hot and looked like they probably tasted good but on both plates they were placed in a pool of blood. When we tried to pick them up they were soggy and fell apart. My steak was ordered medium rare and cooked properly but was not especially tasty. It was also missing the mushrooms. My husband's steak however was also cooked medium rare and it was ordered medium well but at this point it was going to go home and be heated in the microwave so we let the waiter know it was served incorrectly but decided against sending it back a second time. He was very apologetic but no matter how great the customer service is at a restaurant it can't overcome poorly cooked food and an unorganized kitchen staff. There are a lot of better choices for dinner in Federal Way, next time we will choose one of them!

there is no building up to a monumental disappointment or lavish review for my experience here. just a straight to the point - no beating around the bush review. drinks were ordered and came out very weak - was told by the staff that the ice melts really fast so thats why the drinks tastes "watered down." food came out - "filet mignon nachos" tasted like any other nachos out there. with our order was beer, two mojitos, two baked potatoes, and a steak salad. bill total was nearly $60 not including tip. nothing was over the top good, just barely sub par quality. over priced food. watered down drinks. then to top it off - i signed off on a $70 ticket only to have my bank account charged for $110. in process of dispute now. either way it goes. i'll never be coming back.

I think we shall pass next time the val pak coupon comes through the mail. We ordered a sampler platter, very mediocre. The asparagus that came with my rare prime rib was great, so was the Prime Rib, what got me on the downside was that I just got the distinct impression we were being hurried along in our meal by the staff, before dessert even came, we were given the bill, as if to expedite our exit. Must be called the "one for two" service for our "two for one " coupon, hahaha! Times have changed with Black Angus apparently. The dessert still hasn't arrived and the waitress (rhymes with "Mecca" as in a pilgrimage) has already collected the CCard, hahahaha! Think twice folks! think twice. I removed another star when the bill came back paid for before dessert. Time spent for a relaxed dinner? 40 minutes coming through the door and going out. I work in Customer Service which is probably why my radar was turned on.

We stopped in on a Saturday night to have dinner. The last time we did this, it was a ghost town. Fast forward to Mother's Day weekend: apparently a reservation was needed. It was packed and the usually slow restaurant was overflowing. As we walked in people were snickering about needing a reservation and laughing. I didn't know what that was about but soon found out. As I approached the host stand, I see a manager was masquerading as a host. He was happily telling people "it's an hour wait, unless you have a reservation hahahahahahahaha". I understand being busy however, but that is the time to shine and accommodate so you can keep the people from going next door to eat(and hopefully wowing them so they come back and you keep the business on a regular day not just a holiday). We did go next door to eat as they had a shorter wait and the host staff was friendly. Sadly, thr juvenile actions of that manager who may be unhappy in his job and showing it to every customer, will keep us from coming back for quite some time.

Haven't been here since I was a little kid. I always had great memories of Black Angus...the caesar salad, ribs, atmosphere. Sadly, my memories are now crushed and tossed out the window. I've never been to this Federal Way location, just the Bellevue one before they closed it. It looks the same as the Bellevue location did...15 years ago. Food-wise, their caesar salad had browning lettuce. Other than that, the ribs and sides tasted normal, but nothing special. This review would have gotten an "A-OK" 3 star rating, but service sucked so much. Had to ask our waitress multiple times for the same item and they still didn't bring what we asked for. Don't think I'll ever come back here.

Came here for dinner tonight and it was a good meal. I always seem to stuff myself to the gill every time I come to Black Angus and I still have leftovers for the next day. The coupon special they have from time to time for the combo 2 person meal is always useful. They include an appetizer, entree and dessert for one price. What a deal. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the service was slow when we first sat down, but it shouldn't have been since we didn't get there until half an hour before they closed. They seem to have only the one waiter handling like 4 or 5 tables. Oh well at least they gave us an extra scoop of ice cream for our dessert that did help a little in service satisfaction. Overall a good experience again.

This is a chain restaurant. The food is good. Not the best but good. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. I stay at the Hampton and this is a good place for us travelers to go. If you order the prime rib you can't go wrong. I have had the NY Strip and that was good.

First time at a Black Angus and I must say, the Prime Rib was really tasty. I'll be sure to make my way back to this place on my next trip to the area. The wait staff was excellent, the decor was more sports bar than steak house but the food was steak house size and quality all the way. If you've never been, check this place out.

Around the bar area, servers seem to feel rushed, but try their best. In the back where you're enclosed off more and have a personal setting, everything is great. Food is pretty good at decent prices, but it can get extremely busy and parking isn't very efficient. So, you might have to enjoy walking a little... All in all, I don't think any Black Angus' will beat the one in Burien that closed down years ago, but the staff here is very friendly (usually). UPDATE: 8/18/2013 = Menu changed and prices seem to have gone up. Paid $17 for cheapest dinner item and wasn't too impressed...

This review is based on this particular one time experience and particular location and not previous ones. My fiance and I ate here last Sunday for dinner because we had a coupon for their Campfire Feast for 2. Normally it is $25 a person but our coupon was for $18.50 a person. For those of you who don't know what the Campfire Feast is, it is your choice of an appetizer to share, choose any two of the entrees from 8oz Prime Rib, 12oz New York, 6oz Filet Mignon, 8oz Top Sirloin, 12oz Ribeye, 8oz Salmon and 10oz Chicken Breast, along with your choice of dessert at the end. We ordered the Crispy Fried Garlic-Pepper Zucchini for our appetizer which is our favorite appetizer. It came out piping hot and was delicious as always. For our entrees I ordered the 12oz Ribeye cooked medium with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli with shaved Parmesan cheese. The Ribeye was one of my top 3 most tender and flavorful steak I have ever eaten. No joke. It was huge too which is a bonus for the value of the money. My sides were delicious as well. My fiance ordered the 8oz Tip Sirloin with fries and onion rings. His steak was good but not as good as mine. We ended our meal with the Mud Pie for dessert and ate it all even though we were stuffed because it was sooo good! I give the food 4 1/2 stars. Our waitress which I forgot her name, was excellent! She was very friendly, greeted us promptly, checked up on his several times and always had a smile on her face. I give her 5 stars.

I don't really go out my way eating at Black Angus. Ate here with a bunch of friends from work. I had the salmon which was a little dry and the portions for the sides were small. My friends had rib eye steaks. From what I can see, the steaks were a little bit on the fatty sides. No wonder I haven't eaten at Black Angus since I spent my gift card.

  • Food L.

Some reviewers like the food, but sorry not us. Bye bye Black Angus for good! Went there last weekend for dinner and we decided not to go to any Black Angus in the future. The only good thing was that the salad was fresh and the molasses bread was nice and warm, Prime rib was okay at medium rare as ordered. One of the rib eye steaks at full pound was burnt with bitter and burnt flavor even though it was at medium rare as ordered. The other rib eye at full pound was half medium rare but the other half was well done. We mentioned to the waitress and she said it happened because of different thickness on the steak. If the chef is experienced, he/she will know how to cook. We didn't ask for the rib eye steaks to be replaced. But normally waiter/waitress will ask if you want them to check with the kitchen or manager. That is okay as it is the last time we went to Black Angus!

I must say ,I don't go here that often ,but I've never been disappointed with Service or the Food! I usually have the Ribeye and It's always Good. If your out that way, give them a try, your gonna love it. Don't forget to try on a few Drinks, just for size. There Great!!! SMOKIN' MAC

I was on vacation in the Seattle area, looking for a restaurant that offered gluten free entrees, and we found Black Angus. The staff was very friendly and the service was good. More importantly, they handled my gluten allergy seriously and made sure my order was just what I wanted. The steak, baked potato, and green beans I had were very good. We wish they had Black Angus where we live in CT. We would definitely eat there again.

Boiled vegetables and a baked potato with nearly everything. Why? Vegetables should only be quickly stir fried or in a salad. Potatoes should be bite sized or mashed with garlic salt. The cuts of meat are typical and the same as anywhere. I can make better steaks with added Rosemary, a key ingredient. Once you watch Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations, you will want nothing to do with these types of restaurants. The price is not worth the smaller portions of food either. As a male, the biggest turn off are the waitresses dressed like whores - tight clothes showing off cleavage. Not professional at all.

It's not bad. It was pricier than I expected, unless I'm just out of touch. But it seems I've had better steak for around the same price at "higher end" joints. Not that this was bad. One of the ways I judge a cook is whether they understand rare, medium rare, etc. I like it rare or thereabouts. Many go right past that to medium, or even nearly well done. I can say this was spot on rare, not a bad cut of NY Strip. Not the best, but not bad. I like that you can order two sides to complete your entree, rather than the standard soup or salad, and potato. They have several sides to choose from. Drinks aren't bad. I tried a Green Tea, and it was sour and tasty as advertised. Cheesecake is pricey for a not quite New York five pound slice (more like three pounds). Oh, and can't forget that the bread is wonderful. I give the bread an extra star. Overall, decent, and a place that I'd try again, to check out some other things on the menu. But if you really want to have a killer steak and don't mind spending a little money, there are other choices for sure. (Like the Pallisades.)

  • Joceyln Y.

This is wasn't bad. We went for lunch and had a coupon for their "campfire feast for two". We shared the appetizer sampler: fried garlic pepper zucchini (didn't taste the garlic or the pepper), buffalo chicken tenders (pretty greasy), loaded potato skins (these were good), and shrimp cocktail. Overall, not impressed. Seemed like majority of the appetizers were deep fried, possibly in the same fryer. Once the appetizer was brought out, they also gave us a small loaf of what looked like honey oat bread, with honey butter. Pretty good. I had the king Salmon, and my lunch-mate had the 12oz ribeye. We both had salads and loaded baked potato with the meal. I'm a huge loaded baked potato fan...so I wasn't disappointed. The salads were ok, my tomato wedge seemed not as firm as one would hope. The salmon was very nice, nice size, well done BUT not dry, very moist. The rib eye was surprisingly larger then we expected and also tasted pretty good. Then came dessert. (we took 3-4 bites of the salmon/ribeye so we had room for dessert) We had the mud pie. delicious, but for the healthy conscious person...I'd stay away...the portion was HUGE. And I think that's for all their desserts. Another table "wow'ed when the chocolate cake passed their table. Made us look at them and we were on the other side of the room. Prices are kind of high in my opinion, but if you get a coupon, its def worth it.

Black Angus anywhere, anytime, any sserver, any entree is ALWAYS fantastic in my estimation and IS certainly well worth the coupons!! So sad when they closed Crossroads, but now go to Federal Way on 320thand love it there!! Send me your coupons, all you naysayers.

Black Angus used to have a great reputation as a steakhouse. But, it seems time has passed them by and there are other places that serve a much better steak. The service was fine, but steak and chicken was overcooked and dry. The shrimp were barely edible and cold. The broccoli was the best part of the dish. The standards have slipped here and it's sad. When a place like Applebee's is whooping you in steak preperation and taste, you've got some serious problems. This is not worth the money, try another place.

Yikes! I had high hopes for this place. But strike #1 It was Valentine's Day and they had obviously overbooked, the place was packed and even if you had a reservation you were told that you had a 30 minute wait. We had reservations so we waited. We were seated and thought, alright, we thought, in spite of the sport pub atmosphere we were ready to be served a great meal. we ordered the wagon wheel sampler. The potato skins were dry and rubbery, with imitation bacon spread all over. My boyfriend like the deep fried zucchini, the chicken tenders had buffalo sauce all over which they failed to mention on the menu. We also ordered the prime rib dinners. My boyfriend's portion was 50% fat! I had very little fat on mine but it was lukewarm and had very little flavor. Our waitress offered her apologies but.....well what can you do? The desert however was very tasty. But overall, avoid this place. Go to Outback Steakhouse or even Sizzler (are those places still around?)

I'll start this review by saying that the last time I was here, Ronald Reagan was near the end of his presidency and they were still using the square cow logo. I don't know if my memories of this place are tinged by nostalgia, but my experience was a let down in most ways. I really just went here because I had a free app coupon and gift card to use up, and was kinda curious how the place was ~25 years later. After getting a dirty knife and asking for a replacement, I was served lukewarm, almost hard bread by a sullen waittress who seemed to have been there too long that night. The beer specials were nothing special, so I got a large mug of reasonably good wheat ale instead. My app was a shrimp cocktail-SIX shrimp, for which they normally charge $10. I was taken aback by this as I was expecting 2-3 times that. I don't know if that's the norm or it was the freebie special, but I'm just glad it -was- free, because I would not have eaten or paid for that otherwise. The caesar salad that followed was actually the best part of the meal and was surprisngly good. The NY strip was cooked properly, but was lacking a real flavor of its own and there was a large strip of fat on the side, which should have been trimmed off. The "loaded" potato was a do-it-yourself job, which annoyed me to no end. I can honestly say The Keg was a much better place, but they have all closed down n the area. Sorry, Stuart-this place should be put out to pasture.

I joined Black Angus' email club and got a coupon for $19.99 off and my husband and I decided to use it on the way home from the Puyallup Fair. Was the drive worth it? Yes, we had a great dining experience, great steaks, salads, service was very attentive and we will definitely be back!!

The food is just meh and the service is comparable to that of Red robin, but the prices are a bit higher. This place is always packed so it must be good to many others.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time today. This location was previously only open for dinner but recently started opening for lunch at 11am, so we were excited to go. The atmosphere is great! It has the feel of a real steakhouse, and all of the booths are spacious and provide a lot of privacy between tables. This is a plus for times when the restaurant is at full capacity or when you want a romantic dinner for two. We ordered the 14 oz New York Strip, Center-Cut, cooked medium. For our sidekick orders, we had the Steamed Broccoli with Shaved Parmesan and Wedge Salad with Bleu cheese dressing. The broccoli was very tender and flavorful, and the parmesan was a nice touch. The wedge salad was crisp and fresh, and the dressing was of a premium high quality. As for the steak, I can honestly say this is the best steak we've had since moving to Washington two years ago and my husband is a big steak eater. It was perfectly cooked and had an amazing flavor. It was very juicy and had rested the proper amount of time before being served to us. This is one of our new favorite restaurants and we look forward to many more awesome meals here!

WELL DONE CHARD CORNER STEAK. I've been to Black Angus a few times when I was a child on family outings. I've decided to treat my parents here on Father's Day. Yes, very much a typical steak house. Our server was good. He filled our waters and drinks when it was getting low. He updated me on our plates when it will be exactly out. I love the bread and butter they give us. The house salad was okay, reminded me of HS caffeteria salad. And our dishes were pretty good. $20.99 a plate, kinda expensive, but worth it. The portions was great. Enjoyed my bake potatoe with the works and Rib Eye stead, but the side steam vegtables were BLAH. The weird thing is we didnt see our server after he gave us our to-go box and the check. I wanted to thank him since we tipped him pretty well too. But overall, good place to take parents out to enjoy a meal.

I went here on Sunday. I always order the same thing. I get the Cheesy Garlic Bread and Baby Back Ribs. This might have been the worst rack of ribs that I've had here at Black Angus but believe it or not they still beat any other restaurant by a longshot. I guess it's that hard to make good ribs. The cheesy garlic bread was a 10 like always. It has a lot of cheese, the perfect amount of crust on top of the bread and a soft center. I always break it up and put it in my baked potato soup. As far as the ribs they were just drier than normal but still a good amount of meat and grade A sauce to make up for it. A friend and I did a rib search about 6 years ago. I think we went to about 7 restaurants that were supposed to be known for their ribs. Black Angus blew everyone else out the water and still does even on a bad night. I can't say enough about Black Angus.

Today was Jr's birthday celebration!!! He's 15 today, 6' & 200lbs... He wanted STEAK! SO.... Living out south we suggested Black Angus.. He ordered the 22oz Porter House (Chicago Style), me the prime rib & 10oz lobster ~ tasteless...) lil miss had the bacon cheese burger and Mr. ordered some some chicken avacoado sandwich (wimpy-ess entree selection but wtf??) Food was OK, lobster was raw inside, Jr ate every inch of the 22oz & more... lil Miss packed 1/2 her burger to go, Mr. enhaled his after nibbling on everyone elses... argh... When will I remember to eat lobster at home only or at the Met, or other high end joints??? They brought a comp chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, I had a coffee with Bailey's, Mr. had a bloody mary and the kids had ice teas... The bill was $130.00 not including tip! Meals taste better when they cost less!!!!!!

I went to this place with a friend on a weekday evening and it was quite busy. We sat right away but it took a while to get our drinks. Our waiter was very nice and explained the menu quite well as we had the campfire feast for 2 coupon which was a pretty good deal. We got the steak quesadilla as a starter which was great, then got 2 sides each. I ordered the sweet potato fries with a maple dipping sauce which I really liked, it tasted perfect and complimented the fries quite well and a steak soup which was flavorful and delicious as well. My friend ordered the same soup and a caesar salad which was fresh and crunchy. Our entrees were the sirloin steak which is a safe bet and it turned out pretty good, not the best I've had though. They were topped by mushrooms and fried onions which gave it an extra touch of flavor. I even dipped some of the steak into the maple sauce which gave it a kind of sweet'n'sour taste. For dessert we shared the chocolate fudge cake that was topped by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Huge piece and the hot fudge made all the difference. All in all, a lot of food, drinks refilled promptly, good price, we were full and I was happy. Mission accomplished!

Went for the first time. I got the salmon with the baked potato soup and wedge salad, and the suggested chardonnay pairing. Hubby got the rib eye steak, baked potato, and mac and cheese. Best part of the meal: the warm molasses bread! The salmon and chardonnay paired fantastically well, and I'm such a huge fan of baked potato soup. The wedge salad was huge and really good bleu cheese dressing. The prices are decent and service was good, though all of the food took a little bit longer than what I'm used to. We've already made plans to return to try the steak quesadillas and onion rings.

We took my husband out for an early father's day dinner last night and managed to go to what must be the only restaurant in this hyper-sensitive area that is NOT able to or wiling to or capable of accommodating for food sensitivities.... They had a gluten friendly menu, which was nice, but were unable to follow the server's instructions to not coat steamed broccoli in butter (and so on). They were totally overpriced for their complete inability to provide an allergen menu upon request (other places that don't have it will print one or ask the expert or have the expert come talk to you) and inability to follow requests for NO BUTTER on everything! And while the prime rib was good, I've had much better for the same price, at restaurants that are more than happy to accommodate for my family's multiple food sensitivities. To be fair, my husband did seem more than pleased with his meal, but he's the only one of us that isn't going to be miserable for the next several days.....

Since my Immediate family had "other plans" on my birthday, they decided to take me on a late birthday dinner and we ended up here. And I honestly don't remember the last time I've been to a Black Angus. Since we were going out for my birthday, I decided to order a drink. I'm not a fan of Mojitos but the Pomegranate Mojito sounded really good, so I gave it a try. My mom went for the mango one and my sister went for the Blackberry Sweet Tea. My dad and my sister's boyfriend both went for some brewskies. First off, we got bread. I must say, I remember loving their bread. It still tastes the same. Then came out our side salads. I should've asked for dressing on the side if I had known they were going to drench the hell out of it. Finally, our entrees came out. My daughter was so pleased with her macaroni and cheese along with steamed broccoli. Yes, BROCCOLI. How many of you parents can say that your 2 year old or kid for that matter loves broccoli? She nearly killed 1/2 her macaroni which should be a good full serving for a 10 year old. She didn't start touching her broccoli until I was packing it up in a to-go box. As for my 1/4lb prime rib, it almost looked full cooked instead of medium-well. But I was so hungry, I ate most of it. Not to mention, the horseradish wasn't even spicy. My steamed broccoli was yummy as well. I can't remember what everyone else got, but we were all pretty content. I really need to start going back to this place more often. I love their steaks and the quiet atmosphere that you can have with your group, without having to hear other tables conversations pouring out.

Old School all the way - I can remember eating here with my parents back in the early 80's. Hasn't changed - dark, comfy booths. Steaks and Prime Rib are good. Service was excellent and they have awesome coupon specials that make it more than affordable (be sure to get the appetizer platter - then you can pack up everything else for lunch the next day!)

Went here friday night with a group of 7. The food was good. I had the bacon avocado chicken sandwich which was good. My two buddys had the prime rib and lobster tail which they both liked alot. The service was very good also. The waitress brought us out a complimentary giant cookie with ice cream that was very good. Not the cheapest place but the food is quality and they seem to have alot of coupons floating around for different deals.

I probably ate here ten times last year, and each time I went with several people. We were escorted to a nice quiet high-backed booth and the server came promptly and got our drink orders. Usually we would order steaks, and the food always came out promptly and was perfectly cooked. And, yes, that black bread *is* yummy - don't eat too much of it! The only complaint I can make is that sometimes the wait staff seems unhappy to be there. I've heard it remarked by more than one person that the waitress seemed angry or unhappy. Of course, the place *is* pretty dark so maybe it is a side effect of the atmosphere. Either way, it didn't spoil *my* meal.

Ate at the Black Angus on a Friday night, 8 pm, with advanced seating arranged by phone call an hour in advance. We were seated quickly. Our server was very efficient and friendly. I had the Mushroom and Bleu Filet, my husband had the 12 oz. Sirloin. Both were done perfectly. We had the grilled Artichokes for appetizer.....yummm! Ask for drawn butter with the artichokes rather than the mayo. Will defnitely be back!

They have definitely gone downhill in quality I think. Went there with husband and the food was nothing to write home about. Our steaks were overcooked and the vegetables were floppy. The reason I'm giving this place 2 stores was because of the drinks. Husband & I both had strawberry lemonades. The waitress came by and asked if we wanted a refill. We said sure. The next time she saw our glasses low she simply brought out new drinks without asking. When we got our bill we were charged extra and told "Refills aren't free." Did not know that at all and wouldn't have got 2 refills if we knew we would be charged!

There are better Black Angus restaurants even!! Go to Outback across the street. Your food will be hot and you'll get what you ordered! We did the call ahead seating and were seated (party of 5) at 8pm in the bar. Hmm...not what we were hoping for. Then they closed the section which meant our waitress wasn't very available to us. Drinks and Appetizers were good...dinner is where it all went terrible wrong. The salad was watery...mashed potatoes cold, bacon on sandwich undercooked, green beans not cooked. Asked to substitute sweet potato fries for regular fries and ended up with 2 plates of fries. Of 5 meals 4 were incorrect or poorly prepared. When trying to get attention of manager it was nearly impossible. Evidently if you are seated in the bar it's your job to take care of yourself. We like good food and are open to spending good money for this but I'd say the quality here has diminished greatly. We won't be back.

This is the place to go in Federal Way with a group of friends or family. There is something for everyone. Good family restaurant with decent prices and bartenders that do great drinks. Dependable steaks and the best hamburgers in the area! Even good Cesar salads. Better places around for seafood. Beats the heck out of places like the Outback.

Your basic steakhouse. It isn't cheap, but the portions are large so if you're going to go, bring your appetite. And remember the advice from Bart Simpson - DON'T FILL UP ON BREAD! Although, the bread is actually pretty good.

Alright so I'm big on coupons and Black Angus had one for dinner for 2, for $35. We decided to go for valentines and I was very disappointed. I did make a reservation, we got there a half hour early and still expected to be sat at the time of the reservation - Yet, we were sat 15 after the scheduled time. Plenty of other parties came in, waited, & were sat before my party was. My main issue was the server, he did not make any sort of effort to be friendly. There was four of us in our party and I would say we are pretty easy to please and obviously looking for a fun time. The server was more or less just going through the motions. I'd understand if he was busy, maybe we would have been rushing a little... i don't know. Of course, we had to remind him to get a couple things - more then once. And he was slow. To me, the guy seemed pissed off to be there. I would have appreciated a sense of humor or just general friendliness, from time to time. Crab cakes were nothing special, typical. The steak was eeh-so so, I have had much better. And the butter, for some reason sucked, it needed to be flavored - tasted like margarine. If I didn't have a coupon I would have not picked that place to eat. I will never be going to Black Angus again.

Bread's yum there. I've been there a couple times with my family and I must say, I like this place better than Outback. The reason for this is because I'm not very fond of the real thick steaks. I ordered medium rare and I was given medium rare that was hot in the inside. Just make sure you don't fill yourself up on EVERYTHING ELSE than your meal.

Okay, so I don't usually go to chain restaurants (yes, I am a bit of a food snob) but 20 of us went for my father-in-laws 84th birthday upon his choice. I have to say that after reading the reviews I was thinking that the service would lack...but I was WRONG. The service was EXCELLENT!!! Our table wasn't ready for about 15 minutes (with a reservation) but they made up for it with free appetizers. We had a few kids running around and lots of musical chairs going around but the staff was great and on top of everything when it comes to giving great service. The food on the other hand was just okay. If you like lots of food, then this is the place for you. The quality of the food lacks, it's not the best cut of meat, the salmon is farmed (boo hiss) or the freshest produce but it is what it is, a middle of the road steak house/chain restaurant. If you want GREAT steaks go to Jak's or the Met. That being said our experience was pleasant and my father-in-law was quite pleased and that's what really matters :)

ok, so they don't have the best steak around, but boy, you sure get a lot if you have a coupon. my wife and i come here occassionally and we always order the dinner for 2 with or without a coupon. it comes with a huge appetizer plate with my favorite, potato skins, buffalo wings, and fried vegetables. there's a huge salad and then the main entree. i usually get the prime rib with baked potato. not enough? you even get a chocolate cake at the end of the meal, though we're usually too stuffed by that time and take it to go. i like the ambiance of the place, super tall private booths, dim lighting, exposed wood beams makes you feel like you're in a cabin or something. the service is always great and their cocktails are refreshing. great for families, i should know, i take mines here and we all love it. this place gets busy sometimes and you may have to wait, the parking lot is almost always packed during dinner hours.

Yes, its a chain.... max 4 stars however, the service here and consistency of the food is great. They take reservations by phone, have a nice clean atmosphere, and the waiter we had was outstanding. Good place to get some prime rib and take the whole family. Also have tvs with baseball on...big plus for me.

My husband & I had dinner at Black Angus last Sunday. The food was excellent but what really made our dinner outstanding was the waitress who served us. Her name is Christina and she gave us excellent service. If you eat there - I promise you won't be disappointed if she serves you. You can also sign up for Coupons on Blackangus.com

I love the Campfire Feast! I like to start off with the bread and butter. The sampler platter has enough food on it to make you smile. I like to upgrade my prime rib to the 3/4 pound, and the cut is always satisfying. Just when you think you are done, then comes the dessert option. I have yet to have a dessert not make my blood sugar unhappy! The overall atmosphere is comfy, and they have a really nice remodeled bar. The drinks are good, but could use a little work (hence the 4 stars.)

I was taken to lunch here two weeks ago by some wonderful friends up here in Seattle. They ordered items that adhered to an $8.99 coupon. I ordered two side dishes. Broccoli and a cup of soup. I got two florets of broccoli, loaded with oil and garlic and the soup was simply tasteless. My friend's hamburger bun had been microwaved to an inch of it's life. It was so hard, she just took it off. The manager came by and pleasantly inquired about our food. My friend said, "look at her side dish" it's two pieces of broccoli. With a straight face he replied, "we weigh every item carefully because of the great quality of food we serve". Quality of food? This was such a joke. There are places down the road like the Brown's Point Diner which serves the best cooked, freshest, perfect portioned food for half the price. Black Angus is a waste of anyone's hard earned dollar. I will never order food here again.

Where do I start.... This place use to be really great. I would frequent the bar for happy hour because the food and drinks were good and the prices were too. Here lately this place have went down hill. The newer staff give good serve to the obvious regulars and everyone else gets so so treatment. The last few times I sat in the bar i almost felt like I was a burden to the bartender. The last time the bartender was dry, the soup was Luke warm, salad the same on the things that were suppose to be hot. The only thing I enjoyed was my drink. I had to ask for silverware, napkin, even dressing for my salad. I was never asked what temperature I wanted for my steak. Blah I feel like all I'm doing is complaining but it was generally bad. Once upon a time this place was great for a chain establish but now not so much. The one star is for my drink.

The food was pretty good, but service was poor. Our server was one of the worst I have ever had. When she came to take our order for drinks, I asked for Dr. Pepper. She said they didn't have it...and then just stared at me....didn't offer any other alternatives, so I ordered water instead. Later she brought the wrong dessert order; not a big deal, but when we explained that we asked for a different dessert, she argued that what she brought was what we ordered. We went back and forth a few times before she took it back and brought the correct one, but made it clear that she felt we were wrong. The service left us feeling uncomfortable and not willing to come back in the future.

We had not at Black Angus for years - but nothing has changed. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere but it is definitely not a young person's place. As we waited for our friends - we watched the parade of people - the majority over 40. Both the dark atmosphere (1970's) and higher end prices are probably a factor. The experience started with a friendly front desk greeting. We had awesome service with a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive waiter. Our friends had the typical two people special (my opinion since someone at the table always seems to order it). It covers appetizers (which we all shared), full entrée and dessert - again which we shared. My wife and I had the pork chop (shared) which comes with two sides so it is plenty for both of us. The appetizers are a sampler with a number of different items. I will say I liked the potato skins since they were primarily skins with just a little potato. I hate it when they basically are a potato sliced. The pork chop - our meal - was juicy but not to my liking (nothing wrong - I was just expecting the seasonings to give it a different taste.) We split the chocolate brownie cake for dessert and it was typical but tasty. Overall - I have always enjoyed the Black Angus and recommend it for a nice social dinner.

Food was really good and service was great as well. I didn't care for the wagon wheel sampler as an appetizer but my prime rib was delicious. Next time I will have to get a regular baked potato. The loaded baked potato was too busy for me. I had a piece of my husbands ribeye and it was tender, juicy and full of flavor. My daughters steak was cooked well too and she ate almost all her food and she doesn't ever eat. I was disappointed they didn't have any coke. But there were plenty of other drinks.

Definately an improvement from the last time we were here. I had the 12oz Rib Eye with onion rings and coleslaw. The rib eye was perfectly cooked and seasoned amazingly. Our server was great. He was friendly and did not hover over us. I was completely satisfied with everything. Will probably be back sooner this time.

Went here recently for lunch with my daughter, and was expecting much better quality then what we received. The restaurant was over half empty yet the wait was over 30 minutes. I would have expected the restaurant to be more prepared for service the day before a major holiday when most of the general public is off work. The salads we received before our meal were 90% shredded purple cabbage and carrot. Ridiculous! My steak and shrimp combo was brought out way early, not even half way thru our appetizer and salads. Even AFTER I had asked the waitress if we had time for an appetizer! The steak was absolutely terrible. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done and didnt have any seasoning! The grilled shrimp also had no seasoning! On the bright side, my mojito was freakin awesome! BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE ME WANNA COME BACK! EVER!

Awesome food. Awesome service. Awesome place. I've been here a few times and have never had a disappointment in any area with my dining experience. Tonight, I got a NY steak with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. I have a root beer weakness and here, they serve it in a big, frosty mug on request. If you get the root beer float this way, they'll refill it for you, including the vanilla ice cream which is the good stuff. I was greeted warmly when I came in, didn't have to wait to be seated and my server was great. I was checked on consistently. This restaurant has specials occasionally and I'd encourage you to take advantage of that if you haven't been here based on the prices. Steak should not be saved just for special events and holidays. Food: 4.5 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 Parking: 4.5

Bar seating is quicker if you don't have kids with you. I'm giving this 2 stars for my husbands sake. I had a great meal but he did not. The wait was about 10 minutes, which is better than normal for 6pm. It's usually never busy... We had coupons for the Filet Mignon and my husbands asparagus was small portioned and cold, and they forgot his loaded baked potato... when he got it it too was cold... My food was cooked perfect and hot! I don't know why his wasn't. There are definitely much better places to eat at less than a block away! Go somewhere else!

First off, Im not against any place. If given another chance I could return here. I havent been to Black Angus in about ten years and I guess it'd be another ten years until I go back. This place feels OLD. I mean, the all wood interior and lack of windows to the outside makes it SUPER DARK, and giving it ZERO energy. I dont need a nightclub to eat in, but I also dont like feeling Im hanging out with my grandparents in a Log Cabin with nothing to inspire conversation. This being my biggest issue with Black Angus. Sadly, I cant see the modern customer continuing to go here. It feels a good 20 years out of date. On the plus side, the wait was short (about 5 mins on a Saturday night ) the greeting staff and our table server were awesome. The appetizers were ok, we got the sampler platter. The buffalo chicken was just all right, the zucchini was good but average. My wife got prime rib, as did I ... but we were both disappointed with our potato sides. Her baked potato was dry and wasnt helped with a 2nd dose of butter and sour cream. My Au Gratin potato side was over cooked and forgettable. My wife was pleased with her salad and prime rib. I asked for an endpiece normally my favorite cut on a prime rib, this time it wasnt. I did get the choice of opting out when I had been told my desired cooking range wasnt available, wanted medium rare, and got medium well, but I chose to tough it out. Bad choice. I left half of it and I never leave meat on my plate. Basically, aside from the positives I've mentioned not too much to get excited about. I doubt I would seek out Black Angus if I werent in the area. We went here on a coupon offer a two person meal for $41 those two reasons were the only things that brought me here.

Absolutely terrible. What a way to ruin an evening. It all started well but went down hill quickly!!! The waitress Amber must have just started today. We could have forgiven some of the issues but they continued to mount. We ordered steaks, sides and wine. We had one of 2 appetizers delivered at about 30 minutes in. I asked at 45 minutes if we were going to see the wine ordered. Amber laughed and said it would be out shortly. It showed but she had no clue as to how to pull the cork or pour it. Then salads arrived but Amber didn't know enough to clear the table and refill the waters. Entres finally arrived at about 90 minutes after being seated. My friends medium rare prime rib looked like salmon it was so red. My filet barely melted the butter I put on top. When the manager came around we complained about the length of time. He apologized and said he would look into it. He came back and said he would adjust the bill. Never happened and on top of that we were hard pressed to get Amber to bring more water or anything else. Absolutely terrible service and customer service. If you are thinking about eating here --- do yourself a big favor and go anywhere else. 1 star because it won't take less!!

My family and I dined here as first timers and I have to say that the dining experience was poor and disappointing. Our server rushed through our entire service and was not attentive at all. For the amount of money that was spent, we could've had a better dining experience at IHOP or Denny's. My family gives you an all thumbs down. We would like to thank you for ensuring that your restaurant is a place that we will never go to again.

Ever since I had their steak at the Lynnwood location, I vowed never to go back to Black Angus. One evening as I drove around looking for something to eat but different from my usual places, I spotted a sign that said they have a prime and mud special. What you get is a soup or salad, prime rib and two sides plus a mud pie; all for $17.99. Sure, let's give 'em another try. Steak sounds good right about now. Onion Rings (HH order) - perfect onion rings. Crispy, crunchy with hot onion that isn't overdone. Comes with a great spicy and tangy dipping sauce. Bread - warm bread roll that has a slight sweetness and a bran flavor to it. Spread the butter and off we go. Caesar Salad - cold, crisp lettuce with plenty of thin slices of cheese. Prime Rib with a side of au jus sauce, broccoli and baked potato. I ask them for both the creamy horseradish and the straight up fresh one. I don't know anyone else that does this but I prefer to put my sour cream and the creamy horseradish in my baked potato along with the bacon, butter and chives. I reserve the regular horseradish and the au jus for the prime rib. The rib meat is tender, juicy and much better than I remember any steak during my visit to their Lynnwood location. Ah don't forget, dessert in the form of a MUD PIE. At first glance, it looks extremely sweet but it isn't! The thin layer of creamy frosting, the thicker layer of a coffee (almond mocha) ice cream and a chocolate cookie crust melds together to form a satisfying finale. Black Angus should NOT be compared to an El Gaucho, Daniel's Broiler or John Howie type of establishment where one would expect a formal dinner atmosphere and a gut wretching bill at the end. This is where you expect modest food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. By the way, they are currently having that Prime and Mud special on Wednesdays for a limited time only.

I'm not big on chains, but I gave this old stalwart a chance and it was terrific. I had jumbo prawns, which were more like medium prawns. No lettuce or BS, just 6 shrimp in ice. Fresh chilled and good. Excellent coctail sauce The New York steak was solid, the baked potato hot fluffy perfect. The girls behind teh bar were flying around, but with no bar-back, there's no conversation with the bar tender, not really a place to hang and have a good time. But I went here for dinner, not bar fun. Overall ti was exceelnt.

This is my husband's favorite place to go. We normally go for the Dinner for Two for 39.99. Though recently they added a Rib Eye Surcharge of 3.00 a Rib Eye. We alternate between the Rib Eye and Prime Rib and Get the Wagon Wheel Platter for the Appetizer. For Dessert it is always the Chocolate Cake with a Heavenly Fudge that comes in a little pitcher and Topped with Vanilla Ice Cream! Yum! It used to be we always would take home a Doggy Bag, not so much anymore.... So I am wondering if we eat more than we used to?

My brother and I, along with our partners, took my mom here for her birthday. All she said she wanted was a nice prime rib. Someone told us that if you signed up for the Price Club, you get comped a free meal on your birthday, so we did that the day of. I was a little apprehensive that it would be valid on such short notice, but we took the email confirmation with us just in case. We asked our waiter several times if my mother would receive the free meal or if she would have to wait until next year on her birthday. He said repeatedly that he would check, but never actually did, and after about the third or fourth time we asked him, he said (paraphrasing), "Um, I'll double-check, but I'm almost positive it will work, so go ahead and order." And we did. I had the rib-eye, which was seasoned well, but it was super fatty. I realize the rib eye is supposed to be a little fatty, but this just seemed excessively so. My mother was pleased with her prime rib and everyone else said the food was just ok. When our bill came, my mother's dinner was charged. I asked the waiter to please remove it as we were under the impression that she would be comped for her birthday as discussed prior to ordering. He said he wasn't able to do that and that he had misunderstood our request at the beginning of our visit. I find that hard to believe, since we asked him several times and he never could get around to finding out for sure. My brother asked to speak to the manager, and when he came out, he said there was nothing he could do and we would have to pay for the meal. We paid for the meal, but I would not recommend going here with expectations of having the staff explain the discount policies to you with any sort of competence. All in all, the food was mediocre. The service was actually pretty great (food was delivered correctly and promptly, they cleared our plates, etc), and I will say that even though I felt as though our waiter ended up back-peddling his word in a way that I felt he was trying to save his own butt, he was actually really funny, super nice, and made my family feel welcome and comfortable...up until the frustrating end. I wouldn't eat here again.

As far as steakhouses in Federal way go, Black Angus is a pretty solid option. When my mom and I are super hungry we love going here for their large portions, the solid appetizers, and the consistency. We usually do the Campfire Feast for Two - with your choice of appetizer (the grilled artichoke is pretty tasty), two entrees (with two sides each), and your choice of dessert (get the cowboy cookie!). I've seen the mixed reviews for this place, but each time I've been, my steak has come out perfectly cooked and I've left happy and satisfied (albeit 10 pounds heavier). Is it the best steak and food you'll ever eat? No, but Black Angus is a chain restaurant. I will say though, that the food and service is consistent and that's what keeps me coming back.

One of the longest eateries in Federal Way. Watch out for great coupons in the mail for the combo meals for two. Great food and atmosphere.

Not a great dining experience:( No BBQ ribs, slow service, Cobb salad was just okay, steak was cold, water glasses were dirty and the bathrooms were filthy. Sorry...just being honest.

I am stunned that the average for this restaurant isn't at least four stars. Looking at some of these reviews, I think these people all went there on the same day and they were just having an off day or something. I went with my husband and my mother tonight and we had an excellent dinner and excellent service! In fact it was so excellent we told the manager so on our way out. We received coupons for the campfire feast and filet mignon in the mail. So we used those. Total for steak dinner for Mom and I, plus salmon dinner for my husband, Wagon wheel appetizer platter, and their seasonal butter cake with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream was $66.21 after coupons. I read other reviews that mentioned the use of the same coupons and it was too expensive. I think those people want something for nothing. I do think the Wagon Wheel appetizer platter was slightly smaller than it used to be, but there was still plenty of food. I would rather them make the portions slightly smaller than dramatically increase the price. Their steaks are the best in town. They are cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth. I think people should also remember, there are certain things that you should be willing to pay more for. Like steak is expensive, but it's worth it when cooked right. Another major good point about Black Angus is they are one of the very few restaurants that takes reservations, both over the phone and online for ANY size party. That is a very nice and rare thing. That way you can make a reservation for five, six, any time you want for dinner and you will be seated at or around that time. Much better than places with no reservations where if you walk in at dinner time you will doubtlessly wait half hour to an hour only to be seated by a screaming toddler and unable to have a nice dinner and converse. In sum, over the many years and many visits to Black Angus, I have always had awesome service and awesome food. We will definitely return. Also a note that it would be super cool if the seasonal dessert the butter cake was put on the regular dessert menu year round. It is amazing! Melts in your mouth!

Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was delicious. We all had steak and were happy with our food, everyone's steak was cooked to their liking. The sides were yummy. Portions were a good size. We enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I have to comment on the salads. One of my pet peeves is getting salad on a warm plate, it makes the lettuce wilt. Yuck! But here, the plate was ice cold and even the forks were cold! Also, the salad portion was huge. Very good and we will be back in the future.

Went Thursday nite for a birthday dinner. There was 4of us. When our steaks were delivered everything was cold. There was 3 servers standing around just talking. We set in the bar eating area and there was only maybe 3 out her tables in use. Not sure why the food was cold, maybe the orders were not being picked up as they should. I complained to the manager and he said he would look into the problem. Never heard another word. When the bill came no adjustment had been made. Doubt I will ever visit this place again. NOT HAPPY. $150.00 down the crapper

First time visiting, decided to drop by as my boyfriend wanted steak. Our orders were taken pretty quickly, and we were given a roll with butter to start while we waited for our food. He ordered the rib eye with the wedged salad and baked potato, and said it was decent. I ordered the combo ribs and chicken breast with side garden salad (with no cheese on it, yes! I hate cheese on my salad!) which was okay. Not entirely impressed especially for the price. My fries were a bit cold, so that only told me my food was sitting for awhile. I guess that explains why it took awhile to get our meal. After dropping off our food, the server took off and never returned to check on us, when she did return, she came with our check, she never asked if we needed a refill on our drinks. We asked for extra roll and butter for my boyfriend, and take out container for my food I didn't finish. She never came back. We literally sat there and waited for over 15 minutes, had to flag down another server, who apologized for our long wait and promptly returned with a container. We are very generous tippers, and well.. the server really effed up her chances for it.

Amazing! Deann C. was our awesome waitress. She was very friendly, personable and professional. Our food was delicious. Potato skins were yummy, Buffalo chicken was tastey w/o being too hot , fried zucchini was perfect. The steak was on point and i don't think I have had better green beans (with bacon of course) thanks Chris Callan, Definitely be back!

I've eaten here several times and it's usually pretty busy during dinner time so I suggest making reservations before hand to avoid a long wait. To Go service is also nice and fast if you live close because the containers, while nice, don't retain the heat very well. The service is hit or miss but I've noticed I've usually received better service in the dining room and not the bar. The food is usually the same and is decent. I always get the top sirloin, salad and garlic mashed potatoes. I wouldn't recommend getting sauted mushrooms though, they're not the greatest.

Black angus has always been the magic "go-to" for family dinners. Steak dinner, large booths, friendly service, all that's necessary for a regular family of 6+. On a magical night like tonight, we just so happened to get a waitress that must have fallen from the heavens. KAREN! I would have probably rated this place a 4 star, but Karen definitely set the bar high for the next time we come in. On top of Karen's awesome friendliness, my filet mignon was perfectly pink. Thank you chef for making it to perfection. Not to mention the staff surprised my mom, the birthday girl, with a pizookie and a song. *heartwarming* Black Angus, I will never doubt you again.

I called earlier (4/19) to make reservations for my mom's birthday dinner that night. I was specifically asked if I wanted all of us (16) to be seated together, I said yes and also asked if the checks would be separated, which I also said yes. Well they didn't do any of the two. The waitress who I will only refer to as "A" (Don't want to display her full name online) was horrible!!! We told her that we asked to be seated together, but were put in a table where we were squeezed in like sardines and the kids were seated in a both close by. She said it was the same as sitting together. Ugh no it's not. After that she gave us attitude all through our dinner! On top of that handed a hot plate to one of our elders instead of placing it on the table!!! He hurt his hands and she did say she was sorry and that she didn't realize what she did because her fingers were used to hot plates. Well WE are not! When my plate came she was going to hand it to me and remembered it was also hot. At least she used her brain this time. That's not all, before the entrees she was picking up the appetizer plates and told my sister to keep her knife, well she got it and said she didn't need the other one. She rudely picks up the knife and pretty much slammed it onto my brother in laws plate. So rude! My sister didn't need the knife because she ordered the shrimp grilled veggie salad which was so bland and dry by the way. She picked up the knife for her husband and then that woman did what she did. I felt like she thought we were stupid. I can tell at times she was "trying" to be nice to us, so fake, you can tell her hate was seeping through towards us. What I ordered was good though. I had the beef teriyaki lettuce wraps. My husband got the New York steak which was cooked perfectly. I ordered the salmon with green beens and broccoli which was lovely. Dessert was delish I ordered the ice cream cookie. I would have enjoyed it more and would have had a better experience if we weren't treated badly in the first place. How we were treated was unacceptable. It was my moms birthday dinner, we tried to make the best out of it for her by trying to make her laugh and all but we weren't fooling ourselves. That being said it has left a bitter taste in my mouth and will not be returning.

Very slow service and messed up a few times. The food got cold after a 10 minutes wait for some BBQ sauce which we had to pay extra for. Not satisfied with the services received today!

Though myself and coworkers have frequented this establishment many times food is good but service can lack like on this occasion. The happy hour is ok because it goes to seven not like six as most establishments but on this turn a well drink was a well soda. Not being born last night i waited until food was served before the comment on the lack of the main ingredient was missing. Of course the usual I am sorry was expected. Yes I will be back as next time a different waiter an bar keep can be on the horizon.

Their bread is the highlight for this place. Freshly baked out of the oven. Got the 12 oz. Ribeye which seemed a little thin looking and def. Not worth 24 dollars. Came with a group of 4 so got to try to prime rib and filet mignon, again nothing special. Their salads were actually above par and service was just par. Again I would not come here unless using a coupon or gift card.

Slowest. Service. Ever. Steer clear on a Sunday night. Ordered our meal at 7:50 and it was served at 8:55. Seriously. Yes, there were a couple of salads in there but come on. Yikes. From making our reservation to leaving the restaurant, this place is due for some new staff on Sunday's. In all fairness, ate there on a Tuesday for lunch and had a great experience. And w the new coupons out, I'd recommend just going to the outback. Time is money.

The staff in the bar had to be told to wait on me ... I had really sat there 15 mins while two of the staff flirted with one another .... It's ridiculous I love the food but not sure I'll be back to this particular restaurant ..

Very disappointing. Surly, neglectful wait staff in the bar, except for one gentleman! Anyway, adding insult to injury, the sirloin steak was tough and so sinewy that half was completely inedible. Looking for a better steakhouse...

Came here for happy hour with my boyfriend. The bartender is completely rude. He makes you feel like you're an inconvenience to him. He didn't have enough time for his customers but he had enough time to talk about after work with a coworker. I used to love coming here with my family but...I'm not so sure it will happen again anytime soon.....very disappointed.

We just finished with this restaurant and when I say finished, I mean for good. We won't be back, ever, which is very disappointing since we love The food. Unfortunately, tonight's experience ruined it. We had an 8 top - 4 adults, 2 kindergarteners and 2 toddlers. We had reservations and sat around forever to get seated until an 11 top came in and the manager told them he was seating them next at which point I finally got up and asked when we were going to be seated since we had reservations. The manager said we would be next and then proceeded to let us know the restaurant was closing at 9:00, which was fine. We got seated and ordered right away, and our server, Cornelius, was snappy from the get go. We told him we had been at Wild Waves, it was late, (our kids were fussy also so an idiot would know to pay close attention), and just genuinely seemed annoyed with us for being there because he apparently has something better to do on a Sunday than to be at his job. We placed our orders and I specifically told him we wanted two checks in which he snapped back with "I know." He also took this opportunity to let us know the kitchen was closing so if we could order now it would be "best for everyone." (see why we felt like a nuisance being there)?! We requested bread and were told "it was almost done baking." It never came. The only thing that got baked was our server on his break, Or so he acted. They brought the drinks and forgot two of them, and it took a second server to bring the kids' drinks. We requested the oranges that come with the kids' meals to be brought out ASAP since they had no bread, and, those of course didn't show up either. When the salads came, they randomly brought out two extra Wedge salads that no one ordered or wanted, and all they did was take up room at our table. No request for refills on drinks, no condiments brought. We had to ask for all of it. I ordered my son's broccoli extra soft so he would eat it (he's 13 months and teething), and it came out barely even cooked. I wouldn't even eat it and I'm 34. The oranges looked like they had been sitting out forever, and they forgot my very pregnant friend's soup, and my side of au jus. I got it when my steak was halfway done because our server didn't bother to come back. By this time we had had it and ordered our deserts to go. My husband asked for hot water so we could make a bottle for my son, and not even 2 minutes later, I see him vacuuming right by our table so I asked him about it and he snapped it was on its way. My husband was walking around with my son to keep him calm and he heard Cornelius tell another server he needed hot water because he forgot it. We got our hot water finally and my friend had a gift card the manager had to deal with so I took it upon myself to tell Jake, the manager, that my experience wasn't good and he said "I'm sorry to hear about that, I wish I could have been told sooner." What kind of idiotic response is that?! I didn't tell you earlier because 1) You were nowhere to be found, and 2) I'm not going to make the situation worse by complaining in the middle of the meal and get spit in my food and 3) I was hoping Cornelius would pull his head out and do better..... Sorry for giving your employee chance after chance. He then proceeded to tell me he has little ones at home.... Well, Jake, I hope your kids get their brains from their mother because I just told you my experience was bad and you don't even acknowledge the fact that I'm unhappy. We then walked back to our table and he says "let me know what I can do for you next time you come in." Really, Jake? You think I'm going to come back??? I told him we wouldn't be back and he said "sorry to hear that, have a good night" and walked off. Jake, you need to stick to State Farm commercials because you suck at being a manager. As if that's not enough, we took our stuff and I went to the bathroom with my 5 year old and we open the door to the bathroom and hear Cornelius the Great complaining about our table and then says "I only got a $13 tip for that mess over there." He's yelling to someone I can't see. He then sees me and I told him it was because it was the worst service I have ever had (which I wrote on top of the ticket) and he decided to argue with me and tell me that he doesn't provide bad service, it was our fault. I walked out on him pulling out the sha-nae nae voice on me and getting all defensive. My friend tipped you $10 And we tipped $3 because we believe in working for your money. What a concept. Oh and let's remember the restaurant was closing. So tables were leaving, and not refilling. They weren't busy. Cornelius - I'm pretty sure the Beavis and Butthead character Cornholio was made after you. Maybe Mike Judge came into your restaurant and you didn't know, because you definitely need TP for your bunghole after you decide to pull your head out. This place is terrible. Stay away!!!!! McDonald's has smarter employees!!!
